Step-by-Step Instructions for Installing DIY CoolRoom Kit:
Preparation
1. Unpack your DIY Kit and find the diagram with the product dimensions
2. The Allen Key is used for locking the panels together (please see dot point 5 for a video showing the Allen Key in action).
3. Cam Locks are the securing devices that the Allen Key locks together. Please check that all of the Cam Locks are working - this just means checking that the Allen Key opens and closes them properly - we are not putting the panels together yet in this step
4. Every time that you use the Allen Key to lock panels together, check that the panels are pulled together very closely. The panels should also make a clicking noise when they are locked
5. Every time you join any of the panels together, make sure the panels are fully level for all of the different dimensions (important). You can use your body weight to make sure this happens, although please don’t use machinery like a forklift
Installation of Main Floor and Walls
1. Join the floor panels together, although don’t lock them together yet
2. Use the Allen Key to lock the floor panels together tightly
3. Next, fit the first corner panel to the floor by standing the corner panel at the corner of the floor panels.
4. Please lock the corner panel and floor panels tightly with the Allen Key
5. Stand the back wall panel next to your corner panel
6. Use the Allen Key to lock the back wall and corner panels together tightly
7. You may need to use force to get the walls straight & the roof panel in the track. You can do this using your hands or body weight, although please do not do this with machinery (e.g. a forklift)
8. Install the rest of the wall and corner panels using the same method. Leave the corner panel that is at the corner where the door is closed shut as the last panel
9. Install the section with the door. The door will already be pre-attached to its wall.
10. Put the final corner panel in place and lock this in tightly with the Allen Key
Roof Installation and Completion
1. Place the first roof panel in the track on the top and use the Allen Key to lock it in safely and securely
2. As noted earlier, you may need to use force to get the walls straight & the roof panel in the track. You can do this using your hands or body weight, although please do not do this with machinery (e.g. a forklift)
3. Place the second roof panel in the track on the top and use the Allen Key to lock it in
4. Look at the joints - the long spaces where the panels were joined together. Please put silicon on all the joints between panels, and then clean any excess silicon
5. Please put silicon on the top-facing part of the floor joints, and on the inside and outside of the wall and roof joints.
6. In your Kit are caps to go in the Allen Key holes (the holes where the Allen Key was used to join the panels together). Please put all of these in, without using silicon
7. Finally, please use a certified refrigeration mechanic to install your condensing unit and a qualified electrician to install your lighting switch - do not install these yourself.
Congratulations on the great job - you have successfully installed your budget DIY Cool Room, Cold Room or Freezer Kit!
